Barnsley Gardens GM Wins Top Award

Barnsley Gardens Resort General Manager Scott Mahr was named an
outstanding general manager by the Georgia Hotel & Lodging
Association during the group’s annual Stars of the Lodging
Industry Awards recently.
Mahr joined Barnsley Gardens Resort in 1999 and served as the
resort’s golf pro. He worked his way to assistant general
manager, and in 2005 he was promoted to general manager.
Last year, Barnsley Gardens Resort was able to increase
its leisure business by 19 percent.
Mahr also serves as a member of both the PGA of America and the Georgia PGA. His
other current board positions include the Georgia Hotel &
Lodging Association, Cartersville/Bartow County CVB and Advance
Adairsville.
