2nd Arrest Made in Rome Electric Works Fraud Case

William Hunter Hackworth, 55, of Ringgold, was arrested this week and charged with felony theft by deception. Hackworth allegedly took over $100,000 over a two year period from Rome Electric Motor Works. The warrant said that he facilitated and received fraudulent payments `for which no goods or services were received.`

Hackworth is the second man to get arrested last week for allegedly defrauding Rome Electric Motor Works. Mark Anthony Vaughn, 44, of Rome was arrested for making monthly payments to himself of more than $500, for a total of $100,000.
