Alfred Mayers, 52, of Rome was arrested this week for selling heroin.

According to police, on November 16, 2016, Mayers sold heroin to a witness that was cooperating with police. Two days later on November 18, 2016, he sold more heroin and a handgun to a cooperating witness.

Mayers is a convicted felon.

Mayers is charged with two felony counts of possession of heroin with intent to distribute, two felony counts of possession of heroin, two felony counts of sale of heroin, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and felony possession of a firearm during a commission of a crime.
