Misti Smith, 35, and Anthony McDade, 42, both of Rome, were arrested this week for being in possession of drugs.

According to police, following a traffic stop for having no license plate, the k9 accompanying the officer indicted towards the vehicle. After searching the car, narcotics were found inside. Officers then searched McDade where they found a firearm, a controlled substance, and a drug-related object.

During the traffic stop, Smith was seen attempting to discard a small black pouch that contained a schedule IV substance and marijuana. Smith was also in possession of a glass pipe.

Smith is charged with felony possession of schedule IV substance, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.

McDade is charged with felony possession of controlled substance, felony possession of schedule IV substance, felony possession of a firearm during a commission of a crime, possession of drug-related objects, driving with an expired tag, and driving without insurance.
