Ryan Tilley, 35, of Rome was arrested this week for making terroristic threats and assaulting a police officer.

According to police, Tilley pulled out a knife and pressed the tip against the victim’s abdomen and threatened to kill him.

When officers arrived, they placed Tilley under arrest. After being placed in the back of the police car, Tilley removed his handcuffs and escaped.

When police found him and attempted to arrest him for his previous acts, he hit a police officer with a closed fist. He proceeded to continue to hit said officer before putting him in a chokehold, and restricting his breathing. Finally, Tilley used his body weight to hit the officer’s head against the concrete.

Tilley is charged with felony terroristic threats, felony aggravated assault, felony escape, felony obstruction of law enforcement officers, felony unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution, felony aggravated assault against a police officer, and simple battery against detention officer.
