A Gadsden resident was arrested and charged in connection to sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years-old, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Carlos De Jesus, 33, who resides in Gadsden, was arrested on October 12th and is charged with one count of first degree rape, two counts of first degree sodomy, one count of sex abuse of a child less than twelve and incest, all are felonies,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.
De Jesus allegedly raped and sexually abused a 13 year-old victim, many times, beginning when the victim was 7 years-old. The incident(s) were reported by a school employee on October 2nd.
He is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $300,000 cash bond. De Jesus is a legal citizen of Mexico.
As a condition of the bond, De Jesus is not allowed any contact with the victim or the victim’s family and no unsupervised contact with anyone under 18 years-old.
