Tessa Faye Steele, 34 of Cedar Bluff, was jailed this week after police said she went to buy a Honda Accrord at a Wade Street for $2,000 and then allegedly refused to pay for it after she took it.
Reports stated that Steele singed a bill of sale and the title but allegedly never had any intention of paying for the vechile.
Reports added that Steele contacted the victim via text messages stating that she was not going to pay for the car.
She then allegedly attempted to sell the car to someone else for $500.
Steele is charged with theft by deception.
