Richard Hancock, 29, of Forsyth was arrested in Rome this week for threatening another and trying to elude officers.

According to police, Hancock threatened bodily harm to the 24-year-old female victim. He then displayed a firearm and threatened to shoot her. When law enforcement officers attempted to stop Hancock, he fled in a vehicle. Hancock traveled at high speed, swerved in and out of traffic lanes, ran stop signs, and put others on the road at risk.

Hancock was also found to be driving with an expired tag and expired license.

Hancock is charged with felony terroristic threats, felony aggravated assault, felony possession of a firearm during a commission of a crime, running a stop sign, reckless driving, driving with expired tag, driving with expired license, improper lane change, driving too fast for conditions, obstruction of law enforcement officers, and fleeing and attempting to elude police officers.
