Steven Bishop, 29, of Rome was arrested this week for damaging property and preventing someone from calling 911.

According to police, during an argument with his wife, Bishop punched holes in the walls of their residence and broke the mirror in the bathroom placing the victim in fear for her safety.

When the victim attempted to call 911, he did not allow her. She then texted another individual who called 911 for her.

When officers arrived, he would not open the door after several requests from officers. Police had to make a forced entry. When inside the residence, the victim was in the bedroom behind Bishop and said that she was not allowed to leave or answer to police requests.

Bishop is charged with felony false imprisonment, criminal trespass, and obstructing a person from making an emergency phone call.
