Mr. Sam Douglas Brawner, known by most of his friends and family as “Sammy”, 65, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Saturday afternoon, September 22, 2018 at Gordon Hospital in Calhoun, Georgia.

Sammy was born in Cartersville, Georgia on June 1, 1953.  He was a son of the late George E. Brawner and Melba C. Cannon.

Prior to becoming disabled he was a pipefitter.  Sammy proudly served the USA in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Barlow Brawner of the home;  sisters, Susie McEntire and Sandra Wilson both of Calhoun, Georgia; brother, Jeff Morris of Alabama; nieces, Marla McEntire and Macy McEntire both of Sugar Valley, Georgia; nephew, Shaun Farrell of Forest Park, Georgia; several more family members and friends also survive Sammy.

At Sammy’s request he will be cremated and his family desires to fulfill his final wish of no formal service being held.  Friends may visit with the family at the residence if they so desire.
