Bartow County authorities have launched an investigation in to the death of an infant.
The 4 year-old male child , who was unresponsive, was found at a home on North Main Street in Adairsville around 9am on Friday.
The infant was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Witnesses reported to detectives that the baby was alive around 4 a.m., but that they’d found him unresponsive just before 9 a.m. and immediately called 911.
An investigation is underway by the Adairsville Police Department. The State Crime Laboratory will conduct a post-mortem examination as required by law to determine the cause of death.
