Tracie Smith, 55, of Rome, was arrested Tuesday for making racist remarks and attempting to hit another man.
According to police, Smith called the African American victim a racist slur multiple times. Smith then attempted to hit the victim with a lawn light pole.
Smith is charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and simple assault.
