A 52 year-old homeless Rome woman, Rhonda Melissa Scott, was jailed this week after police said she was found walking down the middle of the road, causing cars to have to swerve in order to miss her.
Reports added that while talking with Scott, she began to hit the officer in the chest with a closed fist.
The incident occurred at Broad Street and 6th Avenue.
Scott is charged with felony obstruction, simple battery against a police officer and impeding the flow of traffic.
