Joshua Cody Pace, 37 of Rome, was arrested after reports stated he choked his 40 year-old wife at their Lee Avenue home.
Police then stated that while placing Pace under arrest he refused to place his hands behind his back before attempting to pull away from officers.
Pace is charged with aggravated assault and obstruction of police.
