A Rome man accused of murder, Grady Harper, 28, is now facing additioanl charges.

Reports said that after Harper shot and killed John Alton Allen outside a home on Wright Street he ran from the area and was captured over a week later in Savannah.

Sources state that Harper’s location was discovered though techological advances.

He was charged on Monday this week with aggravated battery, possession of a gun by a convicted felon adn possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

An arrest has been made for Grady Harper who is accused of the murder of John Alton Allen Jr.  Reports said that US Marshall’s located him in Savannah Thursday.

Harper will be back in Floyd County early Friday morning.

Rome Police have launched a manhunt following the shooting murder of 36 year-old John Alton Allen Jr Saturday.  Police stated that Grady Harper is being sought for the murder and aggravated assault of Allen.

Police said he was last seen in a black 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt.

The Shooting occurred just after 4 pm Saturday at a home on Wright Street.

Allen was shot numerous times in the torso and was taken to Floyd Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 4:48pm.
