Katherine Marie Covington, 64 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said she wrote six checks, in the amounts of $3,000, $2,300, $3,400, $2,000 and $12,525 from her 92 year-old mother’s account without permission.
Reports stated that the purchases made by the checks did not benefit the victim in any way.
The incident occurred between July and October 2016
Covington is charged with six counts felony theft by conversion and exploitation of an elderly or disabled person.
