Ransom Lane Powell, 26 of Lindale,  was arrested this week after police said he got into an argument with a 22 year old woman.

Police said that Powell hit her in the face twice, resulting in her suffering visible injury.  Witnesses said they left the room when Powell pulled out a gun and fired it toward the victim and them.

Reports stated that the bullet struck the door near where the witness was standing.   Powell  then allegedly left the home and hid the gun at another residence.

He was found to be under the influence of alcohol during the altercation.  He was then found to be a convicted felon.

Powell is charged with three counts aggravated assault,  battery, reckless conduct, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a gun during the commission of a crime and discharging a firearm under the influence of alcohol.
