see Mrs. Betty Miller Weimer, 89, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 after a lingering illness. Betty was born in Americus, GA to the late Mr. Ralph H. Miller and Mrs. Mary Carey Miller on January 8, 1928.
Betty graduated from Cartersville High School and Draughon School of Business in Atlanta. After graduation she began office work as an employee of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Allatoona Dam Project. Her career with the Corps would take her to assignments in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Jacksonville, FL, Washington D.C. and back to Atlanta where she and her husband, Alan P. Weimer, would return to Cartersville. She retired from the U.S. Government Health Care Financing Administration in 1985 after 37 years of service.
The life she lived reflected the love of her nieces, Dianne (Jimmy) Pike, Leigh Ann (Thom) Dickson, Amy (Terry) Lewis and nephew, Michael Miller Jones.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Alan P. Weimer, whom she adored, and her parents.
She is survived by her siblings: Mrs. Ann M. Wheeler, Mrs. Mary Jo Jones and Mr. Ralph H. “Sonny” Miller (Mary Nell), nieces; Dianne Pike, Leigh Ann Dickson, Amy Lewis and Kimberly Chapman, nephews; Michael M. Jones and David, Mark and Chad Weimer. She also adored her great nieces and nephews; Will Pike, Trey Dickson, Mason Jones, Carey Dickson and Katie Lewis.
A special debt of gratitude goes to her primary caregivers; Mrs. Barbara Sloan and Mrs. Zulia Wendell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Weimer will be conducted Friday, November 24, 2017 in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel at two o’clock in the afternoon with the Revs. Kevin Lobello and Nina Jones officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be: Mike Jones, Mason Jones, Will Pike, Thom Dickson, Trey Dickson and Terry Lewis. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens, Cartersville.
The family will receive friends from one o’clock in the afternoon Friday, November 24 2017 at Owen Funeral Home until the service hour.
