The Emerson City Council unanimously appointed longtime Emerson police officer and Assistant Chief Kyle Teems as the new Chief of Police during their meeting on Monday night. Teems has been with the city since 1995.

His main goal is to expand the department’s manpower, equipment, and technology (as the city’s budget allows) to keep up with the city’s overall growth.

He replaces Randy Turner, who left on September 15th to take a position with the Rockmart Police Department in order to work closer to home.
