Five individuals were arrested Wednesday and charged with multiple drug violations after a lengthy investigation by the Polk County Drug Task Force.

Those arrested include: Corey Alonza Almon, Katorious McConica Williams, Trintis Dewayne Hodges, Malik Daquan Hodges and Hunter Baulding-Woods.

Task force agents obtained a search warrant for 312 Pearl St., Rockmart. During the August 30 search of the residence and the surrounding area, agents discovered approximately 2.5 pounds of marijuana and more than a half-pound of cocaine. Portions of both the marijuana and the cocaine were packaged for resale, agents noted.

Approximately one ounce of ecstasy tablets, numerous schedule II and schedule IV prescription pills and numerous digital scales were discovered. In addition, agents found what appeared to be heroin during the search.

In addition, four handguns were located –one of which was reported stolen out of Floyd County – a shotgun, numerous rounds of ammunition, various surveillance cameras and approximately $4,000 in counterfeit $100-dollar bills were found.

Individuals arrested were charged with the following: trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to purchase, possession of marijuana more than one ounce, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of schedule II narcotics, possession of schedule II narcotics with intent to distribute, possession of schedule IV narcotics, possession of Schedule IV narcotics with intent to distribute, possession of firearms during commission of a crime, possession of ecstasy, possession of ecstasy with intent to distribute, forgery first degree, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and theft by receiving.

Additional arrests and charges are expected as the investigation continues.
