Mitchell Ryan McChargue, 32 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after he was accused of buying a gun with counterfeit money while being a convicted felon.

Reports said that McChargue met with someone selling a gun at the Silver Creek Mini Mart and purchased his 9 mm Walther PPS for $380.  Police said it was later determined by the victim that the money was counterfeit.

The seller later discovered that McChargue is a convicted felon and is prohibited from having the gun.

He is charged with felony theft by deception, first-degree forgery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
