Eric Krupa, President of the South Atlantic League has announced the selection of the 2017 Annual All-Star Team. The All-Star Team was voted on by the 14 South Atlantic League team’s Field Managers, General Managers, Sports Writers and Broadcasters for a total of 56 votes. The Rome Braves were well represented by Joey Wentz, Bryce Wilson, and pitching Coach Dan Meyer.
The Annual All-Star Team was highlighted by the selection for Most Outstanding Pitcher and the honor went to Wentz. The left-hander has an 8-3 record and an ERA of 2.70 working 126.2 innings in 25 games. Bryce Wilson was selected as the top right-handed pitcher in the Southern Division and is currently 10-6 with a 2.52 ERA in 28 starts throwing 128.2 innings. Rome Braves pitching Coach Dan Meyer has also been named to the squad as a coach after a solid season leading Rome pitching to a 3.16 ERA which is second in the league.

The Rome Braves begin a three game series tonight in Greenville before returning to State Mutual Stadium on Friday for the final four regular season games of the season against Columbia.
