Thomas Euell Malone, 30 of Lindale, was jailed on Monday after he allegedly hit a 28 year-old woman in the face with his hand.
Reports added that the altercation occurred in the presence of a child.
Malone is charged with simple battery, cruelty to children and probation violation.
