L.G. Hendricks, age 94, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017.
Mr. Hendricks was born on November 28, 1922 in White, GA, son of the late Howard H. Hendricks, Sr. and Flonnie Bell Hendricks.
Mr. Hendricks proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He loved to work with his hands and tinkered with everything. He was a watch maker by trade for Hobson Brothers Jewelers for forty years. He was of the Baptist Faith and a proud member of Grace Baptist Church where he loved to attend Jack Ireland’s “Prime Timers” Sunday School class.
Mr. Hendricks is preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Hendricks, Jr. and Everett Hendricks; life long special companion of sixty years, Dorothy Dooley.
Survivors include his brother, Brad (Sharon) Hendricks; sisters-in-laws, Marie Hendricks and Betty Jo Hendricks; nieces, Cathy (Ricky) Hendrix and Anna (Andy) Hagenaw; nephew, Scott (Kelly) Hendrix;
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 7th of June, 2017 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Jenkins and Rev. Jimmy Day officiating. Interment will immediately follow in White Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Dean Lewis, Mike Vaughn, Jack Ireland, Bill Millis, Ricky Hendrix and Scott Hendrix.
Honorary pallbearers are the “Prime Timers” Sunday School class of Grace Baptist Church.
Friends are cordially invited to a gathering with the family from five o’clock in the evening until eight on Tuesday, the 6th of June, 2017 at Owen Funeral Home.
