Two Polk County residents, Timothy Lamar Jackson, 25 of Cedartown, and Tiara Lawanna Wilson, 26 of Rockmart, were arrested during a traffic stop on Hwy 101 at Isabell Road in Silver Creek Sunday.

Reports said that Jackson was clocked driving 75 mph in a 55 zone.  Officers said that once Jackson pulled over he gave them a fake name and date of birth after failing to provide a driver’s license.

After investigating police discovered Jackson’s real name and the fact his license had been suspended.

Officers added that they noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle while questioning the suspect.

A passenger in the vehicle, Wilson, admitted to police that she had been smoking the drug.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and police allegedly found several individually wrapped bags of marijuana in the woman’s purse.

Police also located a large bag of marijuana in the middle console of the vehicle.

Jackson is charged with speeding, possession of marijuana, giving false information to police, driving on a suspended license and the possession or distribution of marijuana.

Wilson is charged with possession or distribution of marijuana and possession of marijuana.
