Thomas Shane Little, 42 of Rome, was jailed over the weekend after he allegedly hit a 53 year-old female victim in the head. Reports said that Little also tackled the victim to the ground.
Reports added that while officers were investigating, Little attempted to walk away in an effort to avoid arrest.
Little is charged with battery and obstruction of police officers.
