A wreck at the intersection of Ga 101 and Ga 278 in Polk County Thursday left a man critically injured.
Reports said that a Honda Accord was east bound when they attempted to turn onto Ga 101 South. A tractor trailer was traveling north on Ga 101 and was stopped at the intersection of 278 when a Chevrolet S 10 traveling east on 278 entered the right turn lane on Ga 101 behind the Honda.
The Honda attempted to veer into the left in order to avoid being hit by the S 10. The driver side front of the truck proceeded to hit the rear of the Honda. The Honda then continued east on 278 and came to a stop in the intersection.
The S10 continued in an attempt to turn right, but was unable to avoid collision with the tractor trailer.
The driver of the S 10, Vladmir Gonzalez Hernandez, of Marietta, was airlifted d to Kennestone Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Honda was listed as Demetrius Evans, of Rockmart and the driver of the tractor trailer was listed as Ronald Moten.
