Seniors throughout Northwest Georgia will shake with laughter and learn about resources pertinent to them at the 29th Annual Senior Inforum on April 26th at the Thornton Recreation Center located at North Floyd Park.
The 2016 Senior Inforum brought in more than 600 seniors from the Northwest Georgia Region.
Tickets are $5 for the Inforum and can be purchased at the Charles C. Parker Center, 1325 Kingston Road. Tickets must be purchased in advance and sell out fast.
The Inforum is presented by Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation and the Senior Promotions Council. Wanda Whitten, Chairman of the Senior Inform encourages seniors to come out and learn how they can get active in their own ways.
“We’re happy to again offer this wonderful event to our seniors and to be able to help educate them about services and programs for them in their area,” Whitten said.
“We hope anyone who is a senior will join us as well as anyone who is interested in learning more about services offered to active adults,” added Bob Rudert, Chair of the Senior Promotions Council.
This year’s theme is “Laughter is the Best Medicine.” Seniors will engage in Laughter Yoga, see a magician and other funny event highlights at the Forum.
The Inforum will feature more than 20 exhibits with information on programs and services geared toward senior citizens, a Chik-Fil-A lunch, live entertainment, and door prizes.
Exhibit space is still available and costs $25 for non-profit groups. Spaces for for-profit groups are $150. Interested vendors can contact Sheree Williams at 706.234.1655 or email to email@example.com.
