Charles Rashun Echols, 25 of Rome, was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly led police on a high speed chase April 22, 2015.  Reports stated that the chase began after officers spotted Echols stopped and was blocking traffic at the intersection of Camp and Copeland Street.

Reports went on to read that when the officer approached the car Echols fled the in the vehicle.

Police added that Echols drove recklessly and at a high rate of speed through a residential area, also failing to stop for a stop sign.  Officers went on to say that after stopping Echols attempted to run away from them on foot.

Reports added Echols was identified after he left his driver’s license and Id in the vehicle.

Echols is charged with obstruction of law enforcement, attempting to elude police, reckless driving, driving without insurance, driving too fast for conditions, improper lane change, stop sign violation and driving on a suspended license.
