The 27th Annual Cops for Kids (C4K) double-elimination softball tournament will be held at Alto Park Softball Complex on Burnett Ferry Road this Saturday, April 1. The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by our local Special Olympians at 8:30 a.m. Games are scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. and continue into the afternoon.
This year’s event will consist of, as always, a myriad of public safety teams. These teams have supported the event with teams for the (always entertaining) tournament and donations.
“This is an amazingly impactful and fun event. We strongly encourage the general public to come out and watch and support their favorite team,” commented Floyd County Sheriff’s Office CHAMPS Instructor and C4K organizer, Deputy Anna Banks. “The youth with special needs in our community need our support. This tournament is a great way to support them and, in the process, build camaraderie among local public safety agencies.”
Proceeds from the tournament go to the Floyd County Special Olympics. There is no admission charge. Spectators are able to contribute by purchasing concessions, t-shirts and can make donations.
