Police announced that they are searching for a “person of interst” following a fire that resulted in two deaths on Friday morning.  Reports said that a man was spotted fleeing the scene of the home on Sciple Street.

Authorities said that the fire claimed the lives of  73-year-old Clifford Singleton and 65-year-old Mary Singleton.

A third victim, 39-year-old Melissa Singleton, was also found inside the home with extensive burns and suffering from smoke inhalation.  She was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and was listed in critical condition as of Sunday.

The person of interest is listed as a white male, in his 50’s or 60’s and wearing dark colored clothes Friday.  He was last seen running down Beech Street away from the house while shouting for help.

The Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have been called in to help with the investigation.

Reports said that a third person was flown to an Atlanta hospital for treatment following the fire at 451 Sciple Street.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office has been called to the scene to investigate.
