The House Republican Caucus unanimously elected state Rep. Christian Coomer, R-Cartersville, as the new House majority whip.
“I am honored to have been voted by my colleagues to serve as House majority whip. I am thrilled to immediately get to work making sure our state stays on a path to greater prosperity and our majority caucus effectively represents the interests and values of our constituents,” Coomer said.
In this role, Coomer will be responsible for monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and helping the members of the Majority Caucus to better understand the details of bills and resolutions.
This is Coomer’s fourth term in the Georgia House of Representatives and his first term as majority whip.
