A four vehicle wreck near the east Rome Wal-Mart on Cartersville Highway sent one man to a local hospital for treatment. Reports said that William Kyle Godfrey, 21, was traveling east in a Mazda car when he hit a Honda Element, driven by Willie Jordan of Powder Springs. The Element then struck a Ford Fiesta driven by Donald Farnham, of Hoover Alabama, and a Buick being driven by Deborah Cherry, of Rome .
Jordan was taken to the hospital, where he was later released.
Reports said that witnesses said that Godfrey ran the red light at the Chulio Road intersection movements before the wreck.
Godfrey was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, texting while driving, reckless driving, drugs not in original container and failure to maintain lane.
