A Rome man who was arrested last month for statutory rape is now facing additional charges. Reports said that Menfis Carmelino Perez, 21, has been charged with child molestation. Reports said that Perez had sexual intercourse with a 13 year-old girl at a motel on Martha Berry Highway.

Floyd County police arrested 21 year-old Menfis Carmelino Perez at the Sunrise Motel on Martha Berry Boulevard Sunday. Reports said that he helped a 13-year-old girl leave school before taking her to the hotel to have sexual relations.
He is charged with statutory rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
