Authorities in Rockmart have identified a man killed in a motorcycle wreck over the weekend. Reports said that John Howard Bailey, 71 of Rockmart, died after a SUV driven by 21 year-old William Allen Brown, of Rockmart, crossed Bailey’s path at the intersection of Ga 278 and 113.
Police said that Bailey was traveling west on Ga. 278 toward Cedartown, was he was hit by a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Brown. Authorities added that the vehicle was going from Highway 278 onto Highway 113 when it turned in front of the motorcycle and killed him.
Bailey’s body was sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.
Charges are pending.
