A former youth minister has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges of Attempted Sodomy in the 2nd Degree. Mack Allen Davis, 74, was sentenced in Cherokee County, Alabama after entering a guilty plea. He was additionally sentenced to serve 12 months in jail for seven counts of Sexual Abuse in the in the 2nd Degree.

The sentences imposed will run concurrently with sentences recently imposed in Jefferson County for acts of sexual abuse committed there, Davis will not receive probation.

District Attorney Mike O`Dell credited the bravery of the victim in this case `The victim demonstrated remarkable courage after enduring years of pain from this abuse, I am hopeful that these convictions will enable the families affected to heal and find closure. This defendant committed acts of sexual abuse in three different Alabama counties`.
